PATAGONIAN TREE PLANTING

On the Earthday, 2007 Konomi and I went to an elementary school in a tiny village in Patagonia, Chile on the border with Argentina. The school had spectacular snow peak mountains in the background, one head master, two teachers and twenty five children.
After speaking to the school, a little boy asked me.
"How do you see the future of the planet?"
I answered. "It all depends on what we do. If we do nothing, the future is not good. However, if each one of us does something good to the earth, the future will be very good." "Being nice to your friend and being nice to the earth is the same thing. When you do something nice for your friend, you feel good and rich inside. When you do something nice to help the earth, you also feel good and rich inside."
After that, the kids ran into the school yard, where everyone excitedly picked up a tree, and in 20 minutes, 25 trees were planted.

Who ever said, tree planting is difficult?
